The rare earth elements are formally known as the lanthanides on the Periodic Table of the Elements.

Cerium (Ce) – Cerium nitrate is used as a topical disinfectant for severe burn victims

Dysprosium (Dy) – Found in the bone

Erbium (Er) – Found in the bone

Europium (Eu) – Has doubled the life expectancy of lab animals

Gadolinium (Gd) – Accumulated in bone and liver quickly after absorption

Holmium (Ho)

Lanthanum (La) – Stimulates the growth and doubles the life span of certain protozoa when administered in the correct concentrations

Lutetium (Lu)

Neodymium (Nd) – Enhances normal cell growth and doubles the life span of certain species in the laboratory
